Rare book by R A A Sherrin (author of content from earliest times to 1840) and J H Wallace (authoring content about the period 1840-1845).

H Brett, 1890 Auckland. Four initial pages followed by 728 pages plus indexes (43 pages). Imperial octavo, gilt embossed boards with leather spine and corners, colour frontispiece, folding plates and illustrations.  

Condition: this secondhand hardback book is damaged, would benefit from professional repair but appears to be complete. The book remains bound but the spine cover is detached and the front and back boards are loose so care is required in using the book at present. One plate is detached. Foxing on a number of pages but condition of page paper appears to be good.
